Cookie Policy
A short one, because there is not much to say — this site does not track you.
1. The short version
This website does not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies or any other tracking technology. We do not build a profile of you, we do not follow you to other websites, and we do not sell or share browsing data with advertisers.
That is also why you are not being shown a cookie banner. Under the European Communities (Electronic Communications Networks and Services) (Privacy and Electronic Communications) Regulations 2011, consent is required before storing information on your device unless that storage is strictly necessary for a service you asked for. We store nothing that requires your consent, so asking for it would be meaningless.
2. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. It can be read back later, which is what lets a site recognise a returning visitor. Similar technologies — local storage, session storage, tracking pixels and device fingerprinting — do comparable things and are treated the same way in law. Where this policy says “cookies”, it means all of them.
3. What this site actually uses
| Type | Used here? | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | None currently set | The site is a set of static pages. It has no login, no basket and no session to maintain, so it needs no cookie to function. |
| Analytics / performance | No | No Google Analytics, no tag manager, no heatmaps, no session recording. |
| Advertising / targeting | No | No advertising pixels and no remarketing tags of any kind. |
| Functional / preferences | No | Typefaces are served from this site’s own server, not from a third-party font CDN, so no request leaves our domain to load them. |
| Third-party embeds | No | There are no embedded videos, maps or chat widgets on this site. Those set cookies as soon as they load, which is precisely why they are not here. |
4. The contact form
Submitting the contact form sends your details to our form-handling provider, which forwards them to our inbox. That is a one-off transmission of what you typed — it does not place a cookie on your device or track you afterwards. What happens to those details is covered in our Privacy Policy.
5. Server logs
Our hosting provider records standard server access logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. This is not a cookie and does not involve storing anything on your device. It is covered by our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and available, and is described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Controlling cookies yourself
Even though this site sets none, you can control cookies generally through your browser settings — blocking them, deleting existing ones, or being warned before one is set. The relevant settings are usually under Privacy or Security:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
- Safari: Settings → Privacy
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Blocking cookies entirely will break many other websites. It will not break this one.
7. If this changes
If we later add analytics or any other non-essential technology, we will update this page and show a consent banner before anything is set — with a reject option as easy to use as the accept option, and a way to change your mind afterwards. Nothing non-essential will run before you agree to it.
